Castilla-La Mancha, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands or Ceuta have already activated the vaccination of those under 50, which will be generalized throughout the month of June in the rest of the communities, some of which, such as Castilla y León or Euskadi, have chosen to wait to finish with the older age groups and receive doses before specifying dates.
Health also released a report on Thursday with data on serious adverse effects linked to the vaccine of AstraZeneca. The results indicate that they are very scarce: they do not represent more than 0.5% per 100,000 people. Specifically, four people have died in Spain from thrombosis after one dose, and there are another 16 confirmed or suspected cases.
In Spain, the pandemic continues its downward trend, although at a slower rate to the previous days, which seems to be ending a slight fourth wave. The curve flattens out and the data confirm this. The Ministry of Health notified this Thursday 5,290 new infections and 33 deaths by covid-19, and the incidence in 14 days fell by 1% to 125.02 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
