COVID-19: temporary centers in hospitals will be implemented to free Intensive Care Unit

However, in Huancayo, capital of the region Junin, the health situation has worsened a week ago due to the lack of hospital capacity to receive more patients with (COVID-19) The director of the Carrión de Huancayo hospital, Jorge López, reported that this establishment is full of infected and that there is not a single bed available for those infected with coronavirus.

As revealed, many patients wait in chairs in the triage area because there is nowhere to put them. He also regretted, in statements collected by the newspaper Correo, that they are prevented from providing more beds due to lack of oxygen and medical personnel.

López assured that to install 10 beds, at least five nurses, five doctors and 10 assistance technicians, for which he invoked the help of the Regional Government of Junín and the Executive.

On the other hand, according to the Situation Chamber of the Minsa as of May 26, the region with the highest number of people killed by Covid-19 is La Libertad (4,184) after Lima (26,522), while those infected in that department reach the 809,312. Junín follows with 71,108 infected.

Other cities with a high number of deaths are Callao (3,439), Piura (3,322), Lima region (3,096), Ica (3,050), Áncash (3,008) and Arequipa (2,866). While the regions with the lowest number of deaths so far are Madre de Dios (242), Pasco (242) and Huancavelica (436).
