The Minister of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, Ione Belarra, has released this Thursday the complete list of the candidacy that she will present to the General Secretariat of Podemos and the party’s leadership in the next Citizen Assembly, in which the top six positions are held by women and there are also 11 regional leaders of the purple formation.

Belarra, who ran to lead Podemos after the resignation of Pablo Iglesias, has opted for the “absolute feminization of management” and for “the growth and strengthening of the territories to be able to grow electorally and aspire, with Yolanda Díaz as candidate for the Presidency, to be the first force of the Government “, according to sources of the purple formation.

With that spirit and the motto “Grow up” For her candidacy, Belarra heads a list in which she surrounds herself with the women with the greatest visibility in Podemos and, after her at number one, are the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, in position two, followed by Noelia Vera, Isa Serra, Idoia Villanueva Y Alejandra Jacinto.

In position number seven the current spokesperson in Congress will attend, Pablo Echenique, the Secretary of State for Social Rights, Nacho Alvarez (8), Sofia Castañón (9), Rafael Mayoral (10), Angela Rodriguez (11 and Juan Manuel del Olmo (12).

Eleven regional leaders

A candidacy in which Belarra has included 11 territorial coordinators of Podemos: Maru Díaz (Aragon); Conchi Abellán (Catalonia); Antón Gómez-Reino (Galicia); Pablo Fernández (Castilla y León); Martina Velarde (Andalusia); Jesús Santos (Madrid); Pilar Garrido (Euskadi); Pilar Lima (Valencia); Javier Sánchez (Murcia); Irene de Miguel (Extremadura) and Laura Fuentes (Canary Islands).

Besides Belarra, there are other two candidates for the General Secretariat of Podemos. One of them is the councilor of the San Lorenzo de El Escorial City Council, Esteban Tettamanti, with the list “For a Horizontal We Can”, with which he promises to reformulate the internal structure of the party and create better spaces for participation.

He has also obtained the endorsements to be able to choose to lead Podemos the critical militant Fernando Barredo with your candidacy “New Impulse”, which already competed for the leadership of the party in the third citizen assembly, called Vistalegre III, which re-elected Iglesias, and in which it did not achieve any representation in the State Citizen Council.

The next Vistalegre IV, in which the replacement of Pablo Iglesias in the direction of Podemos will be ratified, it has been called for the weekend of June 12 and 13.
