Rescue 'in extremis' with waves of more than two meters: several immigrants have been evacuated, including a child and a baby

Three men, as many women, a minor and a baby who were traveling in a boat occupied by 36 people who were assisted by Maritime Rescue south of Gran Canaria with two helicopters have been evacuated to hospitals on the island for presenting pictures of dehydration and hypothermia.

The gondola was located last night by Salvamento Marítimo when it was sailing south of Gran Canaria.

Given the bad state of the sea, the coordinating center of the state society in Las Palmas mobilized two helicopters, which came to the rescue of the occupants of the boat, who, once safely in the aircraft, led to the Gran Canaria Airport, as reported by 112 .

The health system that assisted the rescued people, all of sub-Saharan origin, assessed 17 men, 13 women, one of them pregnant, 5 children and a baby.

The health workers transferred 8 of these people (3 men, 3 women, a minor and a baby) to hospitals, as they presented symptoms of dehydration and hyperemia.
