They open process and release normalistas detained in Chiapas

Chiapas.- This Sunday, 74 students, all women, of the 95 normalistas detained in Chiapas, were linked to proceedings and released after the control judge issued them conditional release.

The youths were arrested on May 18 when they were carrying out a road blockade on the San Cristóbal de las Casas – Tuxtla Gutiérrez highway and kept the Norte and Calzada Vicente Fox bypass in the state capital of Chiapas blocked.

After this arrest, they were transferred to prison number 14 located in Cintalapa Chiapas, where they would be processed for the crimes of riot and attacks on the communication channels.

The judge imposed a periodic signature on them as a precautionary measure in the Precautionary Measures Unit (Umeca), also determined restrictions for those linked that prohibits activism in booths or communication channels.

Meanwhile, the legal situation of the remaining 19 defendants, all men, will be determined next Tuesday in another hearing.
