FOOTBALL – Lille won the fourth French football championship title in its history, succeeding PSG, which it is ahead of by one point, after its success in Angers (2-1), this Sunday, May 23, during the 38th and last day of Ligue 1.

PSG, winner in Brest (2-0), hoped for a misstep from Lille to get back to the top, but his dream never took shape during the “multiplex”. The crazy season which has just ended, turned upside down by the pandemic linked to Covid-19, behind closed doors, has given birth to a denouement without rebounding for the leading duo.

Find below the full ranking at the end of this day. The first two are directly qualified for the Champions League (C1), the third will play in the third preliminary round (Monaco will be directly qualified for the group stage of the Champions League if Manchester United wins the Europa League. Otherwise, Monaco will play in the third qualifying round of the next C1).

The last 2 are relegated to Ligue 2. The 18th will compete for its place in L1 during a play-off in round-trip matches with the Ligue 2 club, which emerged victorious from the pre-play-offs.
