Francesc Arnau, FC Barcelona and Malaga exporter, died this Saturday morning, as confirmed by the Real Oviedo on his Twitter account. Arnau, who held the position of sports director of the Asturian club since 2019, had previously exercised this function in the Málaga, where he ended his sports career in 2011.

That year he signed for Málaga, a club for which he would serve for ten seasons. He played as an international goalkeeper with the Spanish under-21 team.

Arnau arrived at the Oviedo club at the end of 2019 to cover the marches of Joaquín del Olmo and Michu. These weeks it was rumored that the former goalkeeper could enter the plans of the new president culé, Joan Laporta, to reinforce the technical secretariat of FC Barcelona.

After his retirement as a player, Arnau stayed in the Málaga and began to work in the lower categories of the club. In December 2015, he took over the sports management, replacing Mario husillos. Two years later, it would be Husillos himself who would relieve him of his position.
