Duro Felguera agrees to extend the suspension of legal actions with Romania for 15 more days

The consortium formed by Duro Felguera and the Romanian Romelectro has reached an agreement with the state company Romgaz for the extension of the suspension of legal actions for 15 more days in order to reach an amicable solution that allows the continuation of the construction project of a combined cycle of up to 430 MW in Iernut (Romania).

This has been communicated by the Asturian company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), in compliance with the provisions of article 227 of the Consolidated Text of the Securities Market Law.

This would be the third communication of this type to the CNMV, after those of April 24 and May 8. The state company issued a ‘notice of termination’, with the intention of ending the contract and executing the withholdings of the consortium, 70% owned by Duro Felguera, to which he responded by filing a lawsuit against the termination of the contract .

The participating companies have requested the restoration of the balance of the contract and the extension of the contractual term due to the concurrence of unforeseeable causes not attributable to the contractor, such as the pandemic, legislative changes, extensions of contractual scope and instructions issued by the state, among others, they caused “great impact” on the performance of the contract.
