The president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, announced this Saturday that, after having received the endorsement of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, the Generalitat has approved the new control measures against covid, among which the reduction of the limitation of night mobility between 1.00 and 6.00 hours and delay the closing of the hotel business until 00:30.

These measures will come into force at 00 hours on Monday, May 24 and will be applicable until Monday June 7th included.

“The decision to reduce mobility has been a decisive instrument in saving lives and containing the pandemic. But June 7th, if the situation continues as now, the Valencians we’ll leave the curfew behind”, Said Ximo Puig.

After the meeting of the Interdepartmental Table for the Prevention and Action against covid-19, held this morning, the president of the Generalitat has transferred that the capacity is increased to 75% of the activities related to celebrations, events or concentrations of people ( sports, cultural or social). In the case of closed spaces the maximum will be 3,000 people and in open spaces up to 4,000 (in both cases in different sectors of 1,000 people).

Ximo Puig has indicated that these measures respond to the intensification of the phase of progressive opening that the Valencian Community began two weeks ago. “We have been opening and our situation has continued to improve,” he indicated. In these 15 days the incidence has dropped from 40 cases to 29.8 (per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days) and hospitalizations have been reduced by 54%.

Nearly 2.5 million doses administered

The president of the Generalitat has stressed that while the progressive opening progresses, “vaccination is the great asset for overcoming the pandemic and it is where we are going to focus all efforts.” And he highlighted that we will end this week with almost two and a half million doses administered and almost 40% of Valencians with at least one dose. The forecast for next week is to administer 250,000 doses.

At this time, he highlighted that those over 50 are already being vaccinated, an age group that will end on June 15. From that date on, people between 40 and 50 years old will be immunized, while in June it will be the turn of those over 30 years of age.

In addition to the president of the Generalitat, in the meeting of the interdepartmental table The Vice President and Minister for Equality and Inclusive Policies, Mónica Oltra; the second vice president and minister of Bioclimatic Housing and Architecture, Rubén Martínez Dalmau; the Minister of Justice, Interior and Public Administration, Gabriela Bravo; the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Vicent Marzà; the Minister for Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, and the Regional Minister for Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labor, Rafa Climent, and for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi Spain.
