Jean-Marie Bigard: His support for the police earned him "stupid relentlessness"

Jean-Marie Bigard said on social media that he had been receiving “attacks from all sides” since showing his support for the police during the May 19 protest.

This Wednesday, May 19, 2021 was a date eagerly awaited by the French. Indeed, this day marked the reopening long awaited bars, cafe terraces and restaurants. While some were lucky enough to have good weather, others were treated to rainy weather but still wanted to sit on the terrace under their umbrellas.

While part of the population sipped their drinks outside, the police did not really have the heart to party. The latter have indeed gathered in front of the National Assembly. to demand more resources and a more severe repression against delinquents. Several political figures joined the demonstration as well as public figures, like Éric Zemmour. Thus, actor Gérard Lanvin said in front of the crowd:

I often work with you and have always met top guys. So I have nothing to say against the police. Everything that happens today is a political affair. It is not a matter of the police, it is a matter of rulers!

And he was not the only one to show his support for the police.

Jean-Marie Bigard with the police

If Raquel Garrido explained why she did not support the movement, the husband of Lola Marois has meanwhile announced his full support for the police :

I am very much with them, so I am definitely a friend of the police. I find it unbearable that we can attack them, whether they get stoned or murdered. They are at the front, they do not earn a lot of money …

Began the 67-year-old comedian, who believes himself to be the enemy of Emmanuel Macron. And to add that according to him, “it is not very popular perhaps to be with the police”:

I have nothing to gain by coming here and saying that I am a friend of the police.

But as he expected, he nevertheless gained to be strongly criticized on the Web.

“I am attacked from all sides”

Tweetos rather active, Jean-Marie Bigard returned to his passage in TPMP on the famous social network. This Thursday, May 20, the one who was recently shocked by a tweet from Isabelle Balkany shared an excerpt from her intervention and wrote that his words had earned him severe criticism. He has however camped on his positions and sent his detractors to the devil in the flowery language we know him:

I’ve been under attack from all sides since what I said about the cops. I do not understand this stupid relentlessness. Let’s stop believing that all our cops are rotten.

Words that have the merit of being clear.
