The incidence falls four points on the day with fewer deaths from coronavirus since September

The Ministry of Health has published this Friday the update of the figures for infections, hospitalizations and deaths from coronavirus in Spain. Regarding Thursday’s report, the total number of people infected by COVID-19 has increased by 6,347. With this, the national total of infected already rises to 3,604,799 people since the start of the pandemic.

The report also reflects 58 new deaths for COVID-19 with respect to Thursday’s data, which brings the official death toll since the beginning of the pandemic to 79,339. This is the lowest daily increase in deaths since last September 11, 2020, when 48 deaths were added to the total.

Regarding the cumulative incidence at the national level, this Friday it goes down to 162.03 cases for every 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, which represents a decrease of 4.29 points compared to Thursday’s data.

Only three regions remain at extreme risk

Basque Country (334) continues to be the community with the highest incidence in Spain, followed by Melilla (257) and Madrid (256). These three, in fact, they are the only ones that remain at extreme risk (AI in 14 days greater than 50) after the improvement of the data in Aragon (248).

There are also three communities that present a low risk (AI less than 50): Baleares (49), Valencian Community (31) and Ceuta (27). Below the 100 barrier are, in addition, Asturias (77), Galicia (87), Estremadura (85), Canary Islands (85) and Murcia (63).
