In that sense, the director of epidemiology of Diresa, Luis Zuñiga Villacresis, indicated that the region is in a great increase in numbers.
“Between yesterday and today we identified 657 new cases, over the weekend we registered 856 more and only in the first ten days of May 4,102 were notified. If we continue in this ascent, we will easily pass the 12,000 infected today.yes, ”he said.
At another time, he said that in recent days the number of infections in minors has risen, accounting for between 70 to 80 new cases per week and 130 cases in young people.

“This increase in cases is due to the fact that parents expose their children in shopping centers and crowded places and in the case of young people, because they go to parties and meetings”, He said.
He also recognized that this year 2,074 people died from COVID-19 and last weekend, 40 deaths, making a total of 3,667 deaths in the region registered so far in the pandemic.
