For the first case, the country is divided into 300 single-member districts, seven of which correspond to the territory of Coahuila. In each one of them a representative is elected, this being the one who obtains the most votes on election day.

For the allocation of the 200 deputies by the principle of proportional representation, a method is used that implies, in the first place, dividing the country into five districts. Coahuila is at number two along with Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas.

For each of these constituencies, the political parties register a list of up to 40 formulas (made up of a proprietary candidate and a substitute each). This list is printed on the back of the ballot that will be delivered to you on Election Day. It is important that you know that when you vote, you are not only voting for the person whose name you mark on the face of the ballot; you are also voting for the list behind the box you crossed, albeit indirectly.

Another important issue regarding this list is that it has an order of priority, that is, the parties have already decided the order in which they want to be assigned deputies, depending on how many correspond to them.
