COVID-19 positivity rose to 5.4%;  there are 6 new deaths from the disease

A total of six new deaths because of COVID-19 are reported in Panama, with which the death toll accumulated since only the pandemic rose to 6,277, keeping the index of lethality in the 1.7 %.

To date, the Ministry of Health (Minsa), through epidemiological report newspaper highlights that in the last day they have applied a total of 4,586 new tests, of which 252 people gave positive for disease. With these cases the rate of positivity rose to 5.4%, that is, 0.4% above that recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO)

Regarding the amount of cases that are currently maintained actives, the Minsa reported that these add up 4,278, of which 3,912 they keep fulfilling their home isolation (3,727 in their houses Y 185 on hospital hotels).

On the other hand, the entity also announced that 366 patients infected have required hospitalization and of them 314 are held in regular rooms and the 52 remaining are in Intensive Care Units (FIA), in different hospitals, due to the seriousness of his situation.

According to the Ministry today in Panama Are accounted for 357,353 patients recovered and a cumulative total from 367,908 infections since beginning the pandemic in the country in March 2020.

For its part, the Expanded Program on Immunization (FATHER), reports this Monday that reportsince the beginning of the vaccination against him COVID-19 in Panama on January 20 until today’s cutoff, they have applied 775,995 doses in all the country.
