Printemps de Bourges will be held in 2021

Faithful to its vocation of scouting the season, the Printemps de Bourges will be the first current music festival to be held in 2021. From June 22 to 27, the greatest headliners of French song will perform in Bourges in strict compliance with sanitary instructions, the festival director Boris Vedel announced on May 7.

« The artists will return to the stage, the public will be in the theaters and the music will once again make a whole city vibrate! For this 45e edition of the festival, more than seventy artists will finally find their passionate audiences as well as all the professionals of the music industry for whom the festival will have the flavor of a rebirth ”, enthusiastically explains the Printemps de Bourges team.

The wait has been long for artists deprogrammed in 2020 and in uncertainty for the 2021 edition, first postponed from April to the end of June, and long awaiting an improvement in sanitary conditions and authorizations to play . Audiences were also eager to see the concert season restart, even under tight conditions.. “Rap, rock, pop, song, electronic music, the festival-goers of Printemps de Bourges Crédit Mutuel will find their happiness in front of its stages finally illuminated with all lights”, adds the Festival.

Saint-Étienne Cathedral and Noirlac Abbey once again host concerts

Jean-Louis Aubert and the young Noé Preszow at the opening, followed by Catherine Ringer, from the group Feu! Chatterton, folk singer Pomme, rapper Gaël Faye, Philippe Katerine and Sébastien Tellier, are some of the headliners of this 2021 edition. The rocker Jeanne Added will return with I feel for you, a tribute to Prince, disappeared in 2016.

The Saint-Etienne cathedral in Bourges will host the concert “ Glory Dummy », a celebration of Portishead’s debut album, conducted by Yan Wagner and Uèle Lamore and performed by the voices of Lou Doillon, Sandra Nkaké, Victor Solf and Malik Djoudi. Noirlac Abbey will host an acoustic concert by Ayo, and rap with Obi.

The 33 new iNOUïS talents, selected by the festival (in 2020 and 2021), will perform on stage throughout the week. Finally, it is to Alain Souchon and the group Tryo, that will return the honor of closing Sunday 27 this “family reunion” so awaited of the French song.

No more than 10,000 festival-goers in 2021

Printemps de Bourges 2021 must be held in strict compliance with the health instructions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. He therefore adapted his format accordingly. “Spring will be different but it will be Spring. The artists have all agreed to play with gauges at 65% and according to the elements in place, we must be able to make ends meet ”, explains its director Boris Vedel.

Printemps, which attracted 200,000 people in 2019, should at best welcome only « 10 000 » festival-goers this time, according to its director. The rooms will be in a seated and distanced configuration. The festival has given up its largest enclosure, the W (10,000 seats), due to the sanitary context. The largest of the rooms will be the Palais d’Auron, which will only accommodate 1,000 people.

Wearing a mask will be compulsory on the entire festival site, indoors and outdoors.
