An Antílopez concert is a party that combines music, humor and criticism. Its lyrics are eloquent, its rhythms change from one subject to another and the humor arises spontaneously. Miguel and Félix have been playing together for so many years that they blend perfectly, everything flows. In autumn of this 2021 they will publish their fifth album, Mutate Fame, where once again they will put in the mixer different styles, countries and cultures between phrases full of stingers and pinches of reality.
Mutate Fame It is also the title of the second preview of that work, a song that this Friday we premiered exclusively in Fire and Thumbtacks and that reflects on the concept of fame and its relation to real success. It no longer matters what you sell, it only matters how many buy: “Fame is something that we all live in to a greater or lesser degree and it is causing anxiety and addiction problems. We confuse value and price. We are governed by the number of followers not by quality. We are willing to do anything to have likes. Sexualize everything, commercialize intimacy. Everything is for sale. But the end should not justify the means just because it works as a line of business, “the group explains.
In the video clip, which the duo has directed, they appear with the aesthetics and attitude of rappers, T-shirts of the Finland team, in the neighborhood, drinking bottles with friends and preparing a chorizo sandwich. Thus, they are releasing phrases with which more than one colleague may feel alluded to: “You go out with an operated face and little nose even in the photo of the radars” or “less to be whole and much more to integrate, which is not the same to enjoy comfort than to settle down”, they sing while reminding those designated that they know very well that they have changed and “think about it in bed.”
