Mourinho will take charge of Roma next season

The Portuguese signed a three-year contract with the Italian side, just two weeks after being fired by Tottenham.

The Roma announced this Tuesday the signing of the Portuguese Jos Mourinho as a first team coach from the 2021-2022 season, with a contract until 2024. The statement came a few hours after informing that Paulo Fonseca was leaving the bench at the end of the course.

“AS Roma is happy to announce that Jos Mourinho will be the new technical manager of the first team from the 2021-2022 academic year,” indicates the official note from the Italian club.

“An agreement was reached with the technician that binds him to Roma until the June 30, 2024“, he adds.

The Portuguese coach has only taken two weeks since the Tottenham dispense with their services in finding a new club.

“After speaking with the owners and Tiago Pinto (general manager of the club), I immediately understood what the ambition of this club is. The incredible passion of the Roma fans convinced me to accept the position,” says the Portuguese, according to pick up the Italian team.
