Meghan Markle announced on Tuesday that she is preparing to launch his first book for children, The Bench, which is inspired by Archie, his son with Harry from England, and which is based on the relationship of children with their parents.

The idea for this project came up from a poem that the Duchess of Sussex wrote for her husband on the occasion of Father’s Day, just one month after the birth of little Archie.

The Bench, which will hit UK bookstores on June 8, features a red-haired soldier, a character illustrated by the Californian cartoonist Christian Robinson.

Aside from writing this book, Meghan Markle will also narrate it in audiobook format. “My hope is that The Bench resonate with all families, regardless of the makeup, as much as with mine, “the actress said in a statement.

Thus, the Duchess of Sussex will follow in the footsteps of other faces of royalty, as Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York; or Prince Michael of Kent, who have also written children’s books.
