The Fiat E-Ducato is one of the most popular and sold models in the world within its segment, and now it enters a new stage with the one hundred percent electric version.
This model, in whose development the clients themselves have participated by contributing their experience of real use, is mainly characterized by its capacity to transport almost 2 tons of weight and offer a cargo volume of between 10 and 17 cubic meters, always driven by a fully electric motor whose batteries are arranged horizontally under the floor so that cargo space is not lost.
The propeller has 90 kW of power, the equivalent of 122 horsepower, and it is combined with two types of battery, which are what determine its autonomy. A) Yes, with the smallest, 47 kWh, it can travel 170 kilometers in mixed use, extending the range up to 235 km if used continuously in urban areas. With the other battery, 79 kWh, the autonomy is significantly greater, with 280 km on average and up to 370 if you don’t leave the city.
All these capabilities have been shown to be more than sufficient for what is conceived, and combining the three types of bodywork, van, chassis with cabin and passenger, as well as the different lengths, there are up to 41 versions to choose from, so that companies or freelancers always have the option that best suits their needs.
As for driving, in addition to the good response – the torque is 280 Nm – and the driving silence, It has several programs that adapt to different circumstances and uses: from the most common “Normal”, “Eco” and “Power”, up to the “Turtle” (turtle in English), which limits the benefits and functionalities to obtain an additional 10% of use, going through the “Recovery”, which allows the E-Ducato to continue working in the event that a battery cell is damaged.
On the other hand, like all models today, you can also benefit from driving aids (Blind Spot Vehicle Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Warning, Lane Departure Warning …) and Mopar Connect connectivity solutions, Through one or more applications, you can monitor the battery charge status, schedule recharges and even control a fleet and its routes from a mobile device.
Regarding the energy recovery time, it depends on the version, but the E-Ducato with small battery takes at a standard point of 7 kW about 7 hours, time that can be shortened to 50 minutes in an ultrafast station of 50 kW (from 0 to 80%).
The price of the E-Ducato starts at 58,310 euros, a significantly higher amount than the diesel variant, given the technology, but with a 40% lower total cost of ownership.
There is also a promotion until the end of May to acquire it for 345 euros per month with an entry of 18,890 euros (prices without VAT, which is deductible in professional vehicles).
