Toni Collette and Colin Firth to star in new HBO Max intrigue series

In 2004 Jean-Xavier de Lestrade directed the documentary miniseries The case of the ladder. It is true crime, soon to receive immense media attention, investigated the mysterious death of Hathleen Peterson, whose body was discovered lifeless on the stairs of her house in 2001. As collected Collider, De Lestrade’s miniseries (which was based on numerous reports and books on the case) will become a dramatic fiction at the hands of HBO Max, which has already signed leads. These are Colin Firth in the role of the novelist and Toni Collette as the woman whose death triggers the plot, in yet another example of the excellent health that Collette’s career enjoys today. In addition to his upcoming directing debut with Writers & Lovers, the actress has been seen in recent years in highly successful titles como Hereditary, back daggers and, within the margins of Netflix, I’m thinking of quitting and the miniseries Creedme. The title of this new series is The Staircase and is produced by both the aforementioned HBO Max and Annapurna Television.
