The Belgian trainer Serge Crevecoeur, ex-Brussels coach, has been fired from the French first division Gravelines. A 6th loss in a row in the competition was too much for Crevecoeur.

Serge Crevecoeur put basketball back on the map in Belgium in the capital at Brussels, but opted for a foreign adventure last year. Just across the border at Gravelines, he signed a contract with the French first division team until 2022.

But the Belgian could not fully meet the expectations of the board, because the club announced on Monday that it has stopped working with Crevecoeur. His assistant Sébastien Devos temporarily does the honors.

Gravelines, also the club of Belgian Lion Khalid Boukichou, is currently in 13th place in the French 1st division. It won 8 times in 22 games, but lost its past 6 games. The defeat against direct competitor Nanterre last weekend was too much for Crevecoeur.
