EMPLOYMENT – A new dismissal in the sights of management? According to The world and the online news site, Les Jours, which has been following the media drama for many months, Canal + wants to dismiss a journalist, suspected of being the source of leaks in the press.

Solange Tricaud, member of the society of journalists (SDJ), was also elected as representative of the union + Libres. According to The world, the project of his dismissal, for disciplinary reason, was found in the heart of a CSE this Friday, April 30. A procedure that has been well and truly initiated confirms Les Jours on Twitter.

According to The world, the management accuses the journalist of having unveiled the content of a meeting at the end of March which dealt with the removal of sequences in the documentary “I am not a slut”. In a note obtained by the evening newspaper, the management of Canal + believes that an article from the Days “even describing some of their physical attitudes during the meeting, establishes without any possible doubt the violation of confidentiality and privacy. commitment made by Mme Tricaud ”. The employee strongly defended herself, another employee representative recalling that she had also made a report of this meeting to 80 people.

If the CSE finally decided against this dismissal in an opinion which is only advisory, Canal + will nevertheless have to obtain the agreement of the labor inspectorate to complete the procedure, the journalist being the staff representative.

More layoffs to come?

According to Les Jours, four other journalists are currently subject to dismissal proceedings, and four more are expected to follow.

Monday, Free + had precisely alerted on the invitation to an interview prior to a dismissal of several employees, without specifying the number. The union made a direct link with the signing, last December, of a petiton in support of Sébastien Thoen., And the documentary by Marie Portolano.

Since the sports journalist was fired for imitating Pascal Praud in a sketch, several journalists have been put on the spot for giving their support. The Days estimate that in total about twenty journalists have been “fired or in the process of being fired”.
