Banco Macro and the IAE Entrepreneurship Center launched Naves Federal 2021

Banco Macro, together with the Entrepreneurship Center of the IAE Business School, presented for the seventh consecutive year the NAVES Federal 2021 competition, a transformative experience that promotes, through training and networking, thousands of startups and SMEs from all over the country.

This year the format of the competition continues under the virtual modality, which allows to enhance its impact by expanding registration quotas for participants, extending the program throughout the country. Through a digital and interactive launch, the authorities of Banco Macro and IAE announced that it will take place in the same 9 headquarters as in 2020: Salta, Jujuy, Tucumán, Mendoza, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Neuquén, Misiones and the Province of Buenos Aires.

Likewise, entrepreneurs from all provinces of Argentina will be able to sign up. 900 projects (100 per headquarters) will be awarded full scholarships, in which more than 2,700 entrepreneurs will participate. NAVES is focused on entrepreneurs, SMEs and startups that seek to perfect their business model and innovate in their management. This year, new contents are added that address the issues and challenges of the current context.

Projects from all industries can be submitted in the competition. Cases from all sectors participate in NAVES Federal: health, education, agriculture, design, tech and apps, gastronomy, tourism, sustainability and more, registering, depending on the progress of the project, in three categories:

  • Business idea
  • Nascent company
  • New business project underway

Since 2015, more than 64 million pesos have been invested, where more than 3,900 projects were presented and more than 8,100 entrepreneurs who received training participated. During the digital event, the host Alejandro Melamed reflected on the importance of an entrepreneurial attitude, leadership and entrepreneurship in turbulent times.

The objective of NAVES Federal is to promote the undertakings of individuals and companies through accompaniment, feedback, links and solid training, thus achieving the impulse of the social and economic development of each province. The digital start of the competition will be on May 26 for the venues: Mendoza, Neuquén, Santa Fe and Province of Buenos Aires; and on the 31st of the same month for the squares: Córdoba, Tucumán, Salta, Jujuy and Misiones. Those interested in participating may register for the competition by entering here.

The first stage of Naves Federal Banco Macro 2021 will offer 5 compulsory and two optional seminars that will be held in conjunction with NAVES Nacional entrepreneurs, addressing issues related to the current context. The seminars, conducted by professionals from the IAE Business School, will be delivered synchronously remotely, with the aim that participants can interact and make inquiries at the moment. In each meeting the entrepreneurs will review topics such as: business model and value proposition, economic-financial projections, key concepts for their entrepreneurship, marketing and commercial management. In addition to the virtual course, all participants will have access to the Virtual Campus for asynchronous content: presentations, videos, practical exercises, documents, and links of interest.

In NAVES Federal, 5 winning projects will be chosen per venue, except in the case of Córdoba, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires, where 10 will be selected, making a total of 60 winning projects that will complete their training with the contents of NAVES Nacional (to be studied in the IAE Campus in Pilar or digitally, according to current regulations).

The 60 winning projects will be evaluated by the Bank for credit assistance, with the aim of supporting them not only with training, but also through financing. These ventures will obtain four more seminars, which will complement the content of NAVES Federal, access to a mentor from the IAE support network who will accompany them in the validation process of the Business Model and interaction with other entrepreneurs as well as contact with the network support IAE made up of referents of the entrepreneurial ecosystem (investors, academics, entrepreneurs, media).

The best 6 projects in each category will be recognized in the National Final and will win hours of free legal advice, IAE consulting, and the top 6 in each category will win an international training trip to Israel for a team member. “Contributing from credit support, but also providing training so that companies in the Interior can not only maintain themselves, but innovate and grow is our main objective. Bringing the IAE proposal to all provinces and allowing more than 900 projects to access this program totally free, clearly responds to our strategy of being close and accompanying them, ”assured Francisco Muro, Banco Macro’s Sales and Distribution Manager.
