It is not the first time that we have commented on the deficient care that we monterizos receive in our hospital, Gregorio Aráoz from La Madrid, and it will not be the last, as long as LA GACETA allows us to do so in this outstanding space. We clarify that the events occur despite the enormous vocation of service of most of its health personnel, in these harsh times of pandemic. And these are specific cases, which occur under the exclusive responsibility of the hospital management or, ultimately, the provincial Ministry itself. For example, we continue to suffer from the lack of response to the need for an ambulance in a private home, claiming to be affected by the Covid 19 emergency, when we have two or more vehicles in front of our eyes waiting to be required. This provision, surely established by the Minister of Health herself, leaves us helpless in the face of any emergency other than Covid, to receive urgent attention, which can mean the difference between life or death. We do not find any logic to this measure, when we think that an hospitalization for Covid generally occurs with the patient moving by their own means before the confirmation of the corresponding symptoms. Also, due to the effects of the pandemic, the pediatric ward of the hospital was moved, treating the children through a side entrance. The problem is that the wait must be done practically in the middle of the street, in the open, regardless of the prevailing weather conditions. It is easy to imagine the distressing situation of parents with their sick children, “lying” on the sidewalk of the hospital, without the slightest protection, waiting for a solution to their afflictions. Separate paragraph to address the death of a young woman from the town of Huasa Pampa, who was taken to the guard twice, after suffering a beating, and died due to the poor care received, and a possible malpractice is being investigated, as reported by the media about the case. Finally, the total occupation of therapy beds for Covid was confirmed, in the hospitals of Monteros and Concepción: 6 beds in Monteros and 7 beds in Concepción…! One year after the beginning of this tragedy, we only have 13 beds for more than 150,000 inhabitants… Needless to say, any more comments we can make!
