The rain storm was copious, especially for the people in the area between 14th and 9th streets, in the Pocito department, in the areas of El Abanico, part of the town and the Fifth Barracks. It also affected areas of Sarmiento, Albardón and Rivadavia. Early in the morning, an intense flood surprised the residents of Pocito. The water covered Aberastain Street between streets 18 and 11. It fell increasingly down Calle 13. The large amount of water obstructed traffic and even entered some homes, forcing several families to evacuate. Both municipalities, Civil Protection and the Ministry of Human Development worked as a team to assist the victims.

Broken CHANNELS, forced the cutting of irrigation water in the province.

Juan Carlos Giménez, president of the Society of Temporary Chacareros, told Green Supplement This week “there were many farmers seriously damaged by that serious climatic accident. March 2 was terrible. We went out for a tour and there were a lot of partners with completely lost crops, in the case of tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, zucchini, chard , lettuces and others. Jorge Moral, who has greenhouses, also lost his production. The water overflowed everything. There was a massive destruction, therefore, the directive commission, meeting in an emergency, decided to help with the preparation of 2 hectares for free, with its machinery belonging to the entity, to each farmer member seriously affected by this climatic event “.

Then he said “we know that it is not the solution, we only consider it a help, but it is the first step to recover. Today those fields are planted and others transplanted, and they are important weights of collaboration in difficult times.”

The entity has 330 partners, and has 2,500 greengrocers who go to the market daily.

About 20 producers, approximately, received this act of solidarity, with a couple of hectares prepared for free, by the entity, using its various implements and tractor equipment.
