The City Council of La Orotava was the scene of the presentation of the new book of Isidoro Sanchez, Encounter with the alien. The work aims, as indicated in the foreword by Lucía Burneo, to help the reader have a broader perception of the encounter and amalgamation of civilizations, the result of which is the Indo-Hispanic-American miscegenation. It is a 100-page, easy-to-read book that leads us along an imaginary line between Europe and America, on the itinerary traveled by Christopher Columbus and Alexander von Humboldt. In total, 13 chapters in which the author refers to human rights, indigenous peoples, their communities, tourism, peace and friendship between peoples, especially between Mexico and Spain. This work, edited by Le Canarien, has the collaboration of the Effico company.
The author ends with a fervent appeal to civil society, social and political institutions to support a declaration that contributes to the conservation of indigenous peoples, to respect ancestral cultures, their values and their rights.
At the presentation of the book, Isidoro Sánchez counted with Professor Manuel Méndez and the mayor of La Orotava, Francisco Linares.
