ET is following along throughout the entire hour-long episode on Wednesday to break down all the biggest moments.
The Group A finals kick off tonight, so The Seashell, The Russian Dolls, Robopine and The Orca — as well as one final mysterious wildcard character who has yet to be revealed — will be musically duking it our for their place in the Super 8!
Meanwhile, America’s favorite panel of celebrity “detectives” — Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy — will try their best to guess the singers’ secret identities, as viewers at home keep their eyes peeled for all the smallest and most revealing clues.
The fun kicks off at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, and you can watch and follow along as we delve into the glorious madness and bizarre, captivating chaos that is The Masked Singer season 5!
The Russian Dolls Want You To Want Them
So, from the jump, the Russian Dolls are throwing a curve ball, as there are now four of them on stage! Except, the three dolls singing appear to be small, while one bigger Doll behind them doesn’t move and may be just part of the set design.
The confusion doesn’t distract, however, from their great performance of Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me,” and it’s undeniably clever to throw the panel a curveball like that.
“That was so good” Nicole exclaims after the number. “Wow!… you guys are raising the bar!”
“I mean, what a performance to welcome back Nick Cannon!” Jenny yells.
The Russian Dolls — NEW CLUES!!
The Russian Dolls:
– The clue package is set in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
– Says, “Performing on this stage is a far cry from where we started.”
– Another one says, “Oh fore sure! Life on the stage was definitely not glamourous.”
– Says, “We performed everywhere, from parking lots to softball fields. Even pizza restaurants.”
– There’s a snow globe featuring the Snow Owls from Season 4.
– The address of the pizza joint they are in front of is 288 8th Ave.
– Says, “We put our heart and soul into every performance, and the years of hustle paid off when we finally got the chance to perform for the president. And we crushed it! We raised the roof, of the White House!”
Nick Is Back With His Capes!
As much as Niecy did a great job, there’s a wonderful familiarity to seeing Nick Cannon come out in a Mardi Gras mask and a full-on cape to kick off the night.
Nicole reveals that they decided to get Nick a gift upon his return — which mostly included Nicole and Ken serenading Nick with a special tune (if you can call what Ken is doing “singing”).
A Final Wildcard!
As The Orca, The Russian Dolls, The Seashell and Robopine duke it out of the remaining spots in the Super 8, there’s still one more wildcard twist to contend with.
With the small clues doled out in the intro, it’s fairly clear the wildcard is going to be a Yeti, but we’ll still have to wait and see.
The Group A Finals Are Here!
Nick Cannon is back, we’re got performances from characters we haven’t seen in some time, and generally speaking tonight sounds like it’s gonna be epic.
Not sure how I feel about Nick Cannon kicking off the intro with a broad smile and declaring “Daddy’s home,” but, I guess we can all just live with it.
